Can't sleep at night due to pulmonary fibrosis
Hubby is having trouble sleeping at night because of shortness of breath with pulmonary fibrosis. He's upped his oxygen concentrator from 3 to 4 Liters. Any suggestions? What should he ask his doctor??

It depends on his long-term goals; I had a lung transplant and prior to that was taking no anti-depressants due to bad side effects. I was also taking a small dose of temazepam 5mg. You have to make a choice depending on which path he chooses. To have a lung transplant or not? I decided my outlook pre-transplant was why suffer? Pre-transplant you may have to consider whether you want to take certain medications for the rest of your life. Everyone is different and responds different to medications. Possibly look at Mirtazapine and take it prior to going to bed it does cause mild drowsiness for some people. It is also an "effective" anti-depressant for some; I avoid SSRI's which is the category this drug falls into. He is no doubt seeing a lung specialist, surely they have some ideas on how to rectify this situation with a focus on quality of life.
