Can’t lose weight. Need T3 I guess
I have been on Levothyroxine for 4 years post thyroid cancer and removal. I am very active at 62 and can’t seem to lose weight. I would love suggestions for anyone who found a way

@jerzi10 have you tried intermittent fasting? In an eight hour window you eat whatever you want, then fast for the next sixteen hours. Most of the sixteen hours are spent sleeping anyway so fasting for sixteen hours is easier if your eating window is from noon to eight or from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. you can drink water and black tea or coffee (without sugar) any time, even during the fasting window.

1 ReactionJerzi10, T 4 converts to T3 in the body, except in people who lack the enzyme type-2 deiodinase (D2). You can get genetic testing for that, but you might be on too low a dose of the synthetic T4. Do you have an endocrinologist or rheumatologist prescribing. You might consult with one (or a different one) to ascertain that your dosage is appropriate.
