Cannabis use to stimulate appetite.
Hi,
I'm looking for information from others using cannabis to stimulate appetite in a pancreatic cancer patient. What works quickest to increase a patients appetite? smoking, vaping, or gummies? What THC/CBD content is best?
Would like to hear from anyone with experience in using it in this area. It is legal in our state but the store is full of products. I really need some help.
Thanks.

@sheridanb glad to hear the Mirtazapine has helped. My husband just started on it 2 days ago. He was on Zyprexa with no increase in appetite after 3 weeks. I asked them to switch him to Mirtazapine. I understand it can work pretty quickly, did you notice increased appetite after a short time? We did stop at a dispensary on the way home from chemo the other day and they were very helpful. We have not started the gummies yet.
@cbeard1 sorry, I don't remember how long it took to help. Just remember that he thought it did. Eating was definitely an issue though as his tastes changed, so things that seemed good one day he had no interest in the next. Hard to find foods that tasted good to him it seemed.

1 Reaction@sheridanb Thank you
Weed is legal in Minnesota. I smoked it especially right after chemo sessions. With the zofran and compazine, the nausea was gone and I ate, even when the food didn't taste good or taste at all like anything, I am not smoking it post distal pancreatectomy because all of my pants fit me again. 🙂

1 Reaction@anne7573217 thanks for sharing. Cannabis is legal in OH too so we stopped at the dispensary on the way home from Chemo. I am really hoping to get a balance of him enjoying eating again. It is a struggle and he really cannot afford to lose any more weight. Fingers crossed we find the right gummy to give him an appetite.
