Can you adjust dose of Forteo or titrate up somehow?

tkdesign, with these Forteo pens you can't adjust the dose. You could press the plunger slowly and withdraw the pen before it reaches the stop or if you withdraw the needle quickly you will lose a few drops. But you can't get a controlled lower dose.
Forteo is 20 mcg compared to Tumlos's 80 mcg.
I wonder what the rise in blood pressure indicates. With both Tymlos and Forteo a blood pressure drop is usual. Was the increase within the 4 hour after injection period, or post 4 hour.
An allergic reaction to the preservative in Tymlos might explain your reaction. You won't be exposed to the phenol with Forteo.
I really hope Forteo proves comfortable for you.

Thanks. BP spike was almost instant within first half hour. So it seemed like an allergic reaction. This didn't happen first few times i tried it...but by a couple weeks in, the reactions got worse every time.

tkdesign about 40% of people develop antigens to Tymlos. The antigens can trigger t cell which produce cytokines which could have caused the worsening blood pressure rise. Because Tymlos is snythetic, a person would be more likely to produce antigens. But the reaction isn't always strong enough to produce hbp or to interfere with the bone building activity of the medication.
Fewer thant 3% of patients develop antibodies to Forteo, but is possible to have cross reactivity.
Of course, this may not even be what is happening to you. Phenol exposure is known to cause high blood pressure, but it doesn't usually collect in your system. Still with daily exposure if seems a possible culprit.
Forteo to the rescue, I hope.

You could take Forteo every other day.
Tkdesign wants to start with a low dose until she finds out that there are no side effects (or are) at 20mcg. Forteo doesn't build in your system, so every other day wouldn't directly her concern. Your point is well thought, in that it might give your body more time to adjust, alternatively it might take forever or make it unable to adjust. Taken every other day on a permanent basis would build bone, more slowly, alas. There have been no clinical trials at with this design. Looking forward to tomorrow when you didn't have to inject might encourage a person to bear the effects for a day.

I’m also very small, I had nausea around 24 hours after the shot, so I changed to night before bed shots and it’s better… once in a while I still have but they last for a very short time …

@gently thanks for the info. I’m still exploring meds this year —if really needed, would consider Forteo and BHRT as my choices …meanwhile doing the more natural path now as my OP is mild…and no more cancer treatment presently, that might have brought it on…

@tkdesign - I reported here that I struggled with terrible Teriparatide (generic Forteo) side effects in October and after two weeks, my doctor approved me to start using the drug every other day. This was wonderful and I did this for six weeks. After Christmas, I "volunteered" to up the dose to every day as I wasn't sure every other day dosing would be effective. I had bad side effects the first week and I didn't think it was going to work, but since then I have been feeling fine! I think my body needed the every other day dose in order to adjust to the drug.
