Can too high systemic estrogen cause vulvar burning?

I'm wondering if too high a systemic dose of Estradiol can cause burning in labia majora and butt crack? Anyone know?

What has your gyno said? Are you using a patch, pellet or compounded cream?

@gravity3 My redness and burning started after four weeks on Intrarosa DHEA vaginal suppositories. My gyno prescribed it for dryness and low libido. It worked great the first few weeks then I turned red and tried to self-treat by throwing the kitchen sink at it which made everything worse. I stopped Intrarosa a month ago.

Anyway, I've been on 1.25mg of systemic Divigel for three months. It's the highest dose. I went for a blood test last week but an error happened with the shipment so I go back later this week for another blood draw. I haven't asked my gyno if too much systemic estrogen could cause this. I was waiting for blood results from my NP that are now delayed. Yesterday, my dermatologist said it looks like I've experienced contact dermatitis so she prescribed an ointment to calm the redness. We'll see how it goes.

@gravity3 Just in case I'm keeping too much Divigel on my hands despite washing, I'm wearing disposable gloves when I fold tissue and wipe.

@gravity3 Divigel is a form of estrogen. It's a gel that comes in pre-measured packets. I rub it behind my knees and on my wrists every morning. I used to use a patch but not anymore.
