@1luckyguy

It is an electric stimulator that is battery powered..The shape is like a pen with a control button for strength of stimulation..I carry it with me and use it all day long..

That sounds interesting. It seems to be like my TENS unit but portable. I would have trouble applying it to my feet on the go because of the support socks that are hard to take on and off.

Hi Jim.. Please check out Erythromelalgia........ to see if your symptoms sound like this. I have suffered with this malady for years, but it seemed like most doctors had never seen or knew about it.. There is an Erythromelalgia Association now.. Also, if you google it you will see many pictures and examples of how it affects different folks.. I wish you all the best as you search for relief from this. One thing that helps me is NEUROPATHY rubbing oil that I buy from Amazon. It has Frankincense and Myrrh, which seems to be the ingredients that make all the difference for me.. I posted on MayoConnect a few years back about my initial experience with it.. Hope you find relief..

For 20 years I thought I had erythromelalgia. I belonged to the support group. It turned out to be chilblains instead and one dose of nephedipine that i also needed for my high BP "cured" it. My feet just couldn't adjust to temperature changes.

try the stim pen..My neuropathy was almost completely gone from my chemo treatments..I got my Shingrix shot and am back to where I was with the neuropathy..I have reflexology treatments and also use the stim pen. Has anyone one tried acupuncture for neuropathy or tinnitus?

My symptoms sound a lot like yours. I have burning feet, legs, hands, and arms. My severe neuropathy started from a cervical steroid injection three years ago. I read about Erythromelalgia after I saw your post. It sounds like it could be caused by autonomic neuropathy since it can affect the blood vessels. Have any doctors suggested any specific treatments for this condition?

Hello @1luckyguy Could you tell me more about how you use the stim pen (how long do you use it for? how long does the relief last? How many spots do you use it on? anything else you might be able to share.
My husband has been getting acupuncture for neuropathy for over a year and has seen several different practitioners before finding the right one. While the acupuncture does not cure the neuropathy it possibly has improved the symptoms a little. When his first came on he seemed to be in a lot more pain and was taking higher doses of meds. He doesn't go a day without pain but has parts of a day where it's not that bad. It seems that stress and heat aggravate it. He also tried reflexology but that didn't help at all. I'm sorry that the Shingrix shot pushed you back but hopefully you'll be able to get back to where you were when it started improving. Thank you.

When I wake up in the middle of the night with burning feet, I cut a 5% Lidocaine patch into two pieces and put one half on the bottom of each foot. In the morning the burning is gone. I don't know if this will help anyone else but hope it does. 5% Lidocaine patches require a prescription

Good evening,
I use the Massager Pen ( which you can purchase on Amazon for $29.99) on the meridian points on my legs. The instructions should be included. I hope it works.

Thank you for responding @1luckyguy! Does this help with the neuropathic burning pain or itching?

Good morning @cue. What a simple and effective tip for those of us who need a little help to enjoy our nighttime dreams and get much-needed sleep.. If you have a Lidocaine-based compound you could probably make your own patch. Thanks for the tip.

What other medications or treatments do you find effective?

May you be content and happy.
Chris
