Bronchiectasis & Sinuses

Posted by charisscurry @charisscurry, 1 day ago

My mom has bronchiectasis, but recently is having sinus issues. She's been stuffy lately. She was taking Allegra, but not sure if it's helping. Anyone else has bronchiectasis and sinus problem?

I had the same issue and before my allergies were excluded, I used Allegra, half a tablet- it dried me a lot. So my doctor prescribed Azelastine nasal spray ( for allergies)and ipraprotium bromide nasal spray(dries mucus in nasal passages) plus when I feel I have a lot of mucus flowing down my throat, I do nasal rinses with saline ( can be bough in small sachets). Ask your doctor but definitely saline sinus rinses will not hurt.

I have sinus issues too and use nasal rinses including a prescription rinse. I also use Dymista.. a nasal spray and it keeps it all under control

Yes! I do and always have had that combo. Levofloxacin 3 times per week has made a difference . Irene5

@irene5
Levo 3 times a week is such an unusual prescription. No side effects?

Nope - it has been working for me for over a year.
