Bronchiectasis Resolved?
I was under the impression that bronch was a forever condition, however... my first two Ct's showed and were noted in my impression by the radiologist that I have bronch, but now I have recently received my 3rd CT impression and there is NO mention of bronch! A miracle or an oversite?

Choose a miracle. We all need more of these in today's insane world. After extensive testing, my pulmonologist (also) gave me an all-clear for MAC and Bronchiectasis. Absolutely feel like a huge load has been taken off me. Hope this happens to everyone else! God bless you all.
@clynnford Woo-hoo, great news! I wonder, did you have pneumonia, bronchitis or Covid at the time of or before your diagnosis? All of these can leave "artifacts" in the lungs that appear to be bronchiectasis, but which can heal.
My lungs look "better" 5 years after diagnosis (and 2 years of treatment) but not "cured." I didn't think that could happen either, but my pulmonologist explained that as the nodules and pockets went away, they could see the actual lung tissue better. She also said routine lung clearance, which really exercises the lungs, might have helped.
So I continue to huff, cough and use some saline because I want to maintain...

I had pneumonia in Aug 2024 and CT showed bronchiectasis. I just had a 6 month CT follow up and saw pulmonary doctor today for results. The radiologist wrote I have no bronchiectasis. I know a resident doctor and showed him the report. He says I still have it but it didn’t show on ct scan. My pulmonary doctor told me he doesn’t need to see me in the future and wean if nebulizer. How can this be? I did pray a lot about it so I give thanks to God
FYI: Another patient who comes on the Mayo Clinic Connect indicated that her C Scan does not indicate Bronchiectasis but her specialist, BE pulmonologist, who is moving onto the NIH, indicated to her from what she, the patient, experiences shows all signs of BE.
The BE specialist pulmonologist doctor wants to keep up with her condition while she does her research etc, at the NIH.
The patient will be seeing a pulmonologist in her state of Texas and her Texas pulmonologist will be working together with the now fulltime NIH researcher.
