Brain aneurysm and adhd?
Hello, my name is Kelli. I’m new to the group as well as newly diagnosed with a brain aneurysm small.. but just curious if anybody else out there has one as well as severe ADHD I’m struggling. I don’t think there’s much connection between the two. I’m struggling very badly my ADHD. Every aspect of it has increased quite a bit and I’m running out of options on what to do. If you have ADHD you understand by what I mean by I’m annoying myself like crazy and taking my medicine and everything I know to do does not calm me down and I’m sure it’s the stress and the fear and so much but I’ve been through cancer treatment, so my body is kind of I guess she could get used to the trauma, but this is different. Sorry for the long rant but just curious and frustrated. Thank you

I am 62 and have ADHD and recently been diagnosed with FMD of brain. Scary! My Ritalin works for my ADHD..take 1 x a day. The generic is called Methylephenidate. The FMD is lot and I'm not sure I understand it all. I have the coil like appearance within the Artery walls of Carotid. More when I learn more. Lean on GOD and he will get you through. We always thing doctors have all the answers...they are are only human. J.
Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect, @nova0831. I'm glad that at least you are aware of your aneurysm, now that it's diagnosed.
I'm sorry that you're struggling very badly with your ADHD. I don't have ADHD myself, but I have a family member who does. It seems like it can be very tough at times in ways I can't begin to understand.
I'd like to introduce you to another member on Connect who's also mentioned a brain aneurysm plus ADHD, @dgodden1435. I'd also like to introduce you to @hopeful33250.
So, what did the doctor say the next step will be for the aneurysm? Do you feel your ADHD medication is working for you right now?

1 ReactionHello @nova0831,
I would like to join @lisalucier in welcoming you to Mayo Clinic Connect. I'm sure it must be difficult to deal with the two diagnoses of a brain aneurysm as well as ADHD. From your post, it appears that the ADHD symptoms have worsened since the diagnosis of the aneurysm. Is that correct?
I'm wondering if you have mentioned this to your doctor, who has prescribed medication for ADHD?
