Does anyone know of this. I think its rare but does exist. My neurologist does not know about this. I have compression between my c5 and c6 cervical disk and have had alot of sun damage to my skin.

Hello All. First time I am on here posting anything, Looked over the site and I have to say my wife has the same problems that many of you have. She would be typing this but she is nearly blind, so I am doing this on my own. At first it was thought maybe she was Gluten intolerant and after eating gluten free foods for a few months that did not help at all. My wife has been suffering from BRP for I would have to say at least 25 years. It took a long time for someone to diagnose it . Once diagnosed she tried the acupuncture, light therapy and neither of these worked. . Went to about 3 different Dermatologists and two different allergists. Eventually someone said it was BRP. She had a list of chemicals to avoid and a list of products also. many shampoos, soaps, skin creams you name it. We purchased only those items in health food stores and read many labels. So after many cremes, lotions, medications taken by injection still nothing helps. The results are temporary. Add to this my drug plan dropped some of the items she used. So injections were costing the drug supplier 2K a month for 2 injections. These did not help. SO Ilyne decided to experiment on her own. She found that Capzasin ( someone on here mentioned it) worked temporarily for her. That along with Physiogel (recommended by the Dermatologist) only found on Amazon and comes from Asia or Europe depending which vender was filling the request. Those two together do offer relief. Then it was suggested she try Medical marijuana. That did not help other though some of the Derms other patients were successful with it.,

Last night t as I was passing t he bathroom, my wife was putting some medication on and I noticed her shoulders and upper back had so many sores, she had scratched them raw. I told her I would help her, got CBD oil – its only temporary but she said that with the Capzasin seemed to help..

Someone on this mentioned : Saniona announces successful completion of preclinical development of SAN711- I am sending this link to her Dermatologist for his review.

Hi @ilyne has your wife's Dermatologist done a biopsy and checked for Grover's disease as well? Many people seem to suffer from several skin conditions at the same time. If nothing else, some of the suggested remedies and suggestions on how to manage the itching could help.

Hi, Wife went to her local Dermatologist for a year and she could find nothing. Then suggested we see a Dermatologist in Manhattan. Well we decided to try local again R W Johnson Hospital has a Dermatology branch. Saw 3 Drs there and they suggested the same guy in Manhattan. So we started with him. Did every kind of test, for allergies, blood tests everything and came back with BRP. Went to him for over 10 years maybe more. Just tried more and more cremes and lotions.

Has she gone to a spine specialist yet? I just went and had a steroid shot not working yet but they say it could take 3-7 days to work

She tried light treatments, acupuncture, Went to a neurologist and had xrays of spine. There is a slight compression of disc 5-6 which is common for BRP. Our Dermatologist sent him al etter re spine and BRP – he said never heard of it and thought Dr in Manhattan was foolish to suggest. This Dr is head of Dermatology at NYU Langone. She does not want to ty cortisone

Well you cant take ice packs with you wherever you go. Wife currently using a numbing crème we bought off of Amazon, and uses Capzasin – I can never spell it correctly., Buty that in Walmart they have the best price about 10.00 a tube. There is a company that is working on a product for BRP – I have to find it and will send it to you.

I had tremendous success with a good chiropractor (neck adjustment) and CBD cream. I have been itch and pain free for almost a year. NOTHING else worked. Best of luck

I didn’t have itching, but burning on my arms & legs. The MRI also showed a very small compression.. I’m taking Cymbalta (dulloxetine) & did physical therapy for awhile. This really helped. I was tested for allergies to lotions etc. & found that I’m extremely allergic to nickel. I’m trying the low nickel diet. I bought some lotion from Skintifique that is free of all kinds of things & so far so good. I no longer do the exercises, so maybe it’s just an allergic reaction. We ate oatmeal every morning & nuts & beans in our diet , plus whole wheat & whole grains which all have nickel in them! Hopefully this will be helpful to you!

Thank you for your reply.
One doctor I saw thought my condition might be thoracic outlet syndrome, which usually has pain but not itching. I had Botox shots on both sides of my body, which is a treatment for this condition.
It helped somewhat on my right arm, not on my left.
I am now seeing an allergy doctor who prescribed Zyrtec twice a day and a triamcinalone ointment (a steroid).
I also put Vanicare cream on twice a day and use Dove sensitive skin soap to wash with – no scented body wash.
I will also see a dermatologist for patch testing.

HI Thanks for the info. My wife uses no cosmetics, shampoo from health store, soaps that are pure. No chemical cleaners- and had a list of products to avoid that had to be at least 300 items.
