blurry eye sight caused by antidepressants

I suffer from blurry vision. Just found out that this could be caused by antidepressants. This affects my daily life including driving. Has anybody experienced this also?

I’ve been having blurred and double vision on and off now for awhile.
It’s not everyday, it’s sporadic.
I recently went to the eye doctor and he said I had cataracts.
He thinks I’ll be seeing better after I have surgery.
Hope your blurred vision gets better.

Thank you for your reply. Just came back from the University of Florida Eye Institut. My problem seems to be a side effects to prescribed antidepressants. I already suffer from hydroxychloroquine retinopathy caused by an overprescription. I learned one has to google every prescription and check for possible side effects and interactions with other meds since most doctors are too busy and hurried to consider these.
Hope your cataract goes without hitch.

No, I’ve been wondering what’s going on with my eyes because the eye doctor says it’s just the beginning of aging with a blurry vision. So not even glasses just readers, but I was actually on Abilify, then caplyta. For about 3 to 4 years total, but my eyes have been messed up at least three years maybe and they all say my eyes are fine but they’re always blurry.

I had never heard of antidepressants contributing to or causing blurry vision. I recently had cataract surgery and my eyes are almost 20/20 - but by the end of the day, I get lots of blurriness. The eye doctor told me it's from dry eyes and to just use artificial tears. That helps some - but not a lot. I've been on antidepressants for about 30 years (changing drugs from time to time as they stop being effective), so I'll have to look into the current one I am on and see if that could be a factor.

Unfortunately I have the same problem. If you research it you will find out that almost all antidepressants name blurry vision as a side effect. Not found a solution yet. If you do, please let me know. Best wishes
