BLUNT HEAD TRAUMA FALL CAUSING LCA/GCA/TEMPORIAL ARTERITIS

Posted by iditpaflsigns @iditpaflsigns, Jul 13, 2023

I AM REQUESTING DOCUMENTATION TO SHOW THAT A SEVERE FALL TO MY HEAD HAS CAUSED THIS DIAGNOSIS. ANY LITERATURE LINKS, DOCTORS ARTICLES WOULD BE HELPFUL. SO LITTLE IS KNOWN AND/OR MISDIAGNOSED OF THIS CONDITION THAT I NEED FROM A SPECIALIST TO SECURE DATA SUBSTANTIATING MY CLAIM. THANK YOU, JERILYNN

@iditpaflsigns, Sorry to hear you are struggling with the diagnosis. This paper from 2013 sounds like it might be similar but I'm not sure if it's helpful.

Are you having trouble seeking treatment?

Sorry to hear of your struggles with these diagnoses and it sounds like with insurance also. Unfortunately, I’m not familiar with the other diagnoses you mentioned, except GCA (giant cell arteritis).

I understand it to be an autoimmune inflammatory arthritis that commonly occurs with PMR (polymyalgia rheumatica), and I’m not familiar with it being brought on my head trauma. I could appreciate his head trauma would be very dangerous with pre-existing GCA.

Hopefully others in the group may be able to help, and wishing you all the best.

Six years ago, I tripped coming into my home and fell face first on the brick steps. Aside from my front tooth coming out, I ended up with a concussion and whip lash. The concussion was very debilitating for several weeks. About ten weeks after the fall, I came down with PMR. I believe the fall brought on the PMR. I have read that a physical injury can impact the immune system.
