@chrkuh, chemo can be so hard on the body. I'm sorry to hear that the metastatic tumors are starting to grow again after deciding to stop chemo due to repeated infections. I'm tagging a few members like @plum1 @ben3 @crickard70 @julia725 @gardenlady1116, who may have experience with recurring infections.

@chrkuh, what type of infection are you experiencing? What has your team suggest next after Gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel (Abraxane)?

I have been on two antibiotics for about 3 months since I got an infection after chemo. It was explained to me that the pancreatic tumor was being affected by chemo(or my clinical trial) and some tissue became necrotic. The necrotic tissue then got infected.

I am hoping for good 12 week scans and maybe that means I won't have to take antibiotics anymore. Raises heck with the bowels.

I have a cyst also that they suspect might have infection in it. The antibiotics seem to keep me in good health....aside from the thrush and diarrhea.
