Bleeding after chlamydia treatment

I tested positive for chlamydia. I got tested after I began spotting. Me and my boyfriend both took 1g of azithromycin and waited 7 days. We had sex on day 8 and two days later I woke up spotting. It’s been about a week now and I’m still bleeding. Enough that I have to change my pad throughout the day and I also have cramps. Is it possible that the treatment did not work ?
