Bladder cancer treated with gemcitabine 3 dose

My father 80 years old with bladder cancer and is on treatment, started with anti bcg and now with gemcitabine three doses done with some effect of frequent urination every 10-15 mins as well as pain. Doctor gave some injection to subside the symptoms and monitor for 10 days. Can any one share how long the side effects will be there for the patient and what other reason could be after gemcitabine ?

I'm a 74 year old male who took gemcitabine 3 doses a month. My side effects included the need for urgent urination 6 times a day. My Urologist proscribed Flow Max and it works fine. I do have some pain with urination. I am no longer on gemcitabine. I'm now taking Imfinzi once a month. Be well. I'm on this forum often. John in Houston.
