How was the next 6 hours after the infusion? I have a 5 hour drive home and am wondering how to manage bathroom stops & disinfecting....
Your bladder is empty when they put in BGH. I held it the two hrs but I’d guess you should talk with them. Maybe you stay there for the two hrs and drive back home after you empty the BGH.
I'd do what scot232 suggests. Wait the 2 hours, empty the BCG and then get on the road. The 6 hours were uneventful - you might have to stop once during the 5 hours. Good luck. Will you be having the full or half treatment? I had only the half due to shortages. Fingers crossed it does the job.
Thanks for asking. I inquired and will be getting a 50 mg (full dose) at Mayo Rochester.
Greetings! I was diagnosed in June 2023 with NMIBC and have undergone two TURBTs and intravesical treatments. After induction and maintenance of BCG, I am refractive (cystoscopy detected CIS) and desire to try another option prior to potential cystectomy. Will group share any experiences with gemcitabine, e.g. side effects and effectiveness? Thank you.
@swh Im glad ur doing well. I would discuss with Mayo like @scott232 suggested. Personally, I would need to use the restroom prior to 5 hr drive. Wishing you the best

Hi am new. Am struggling to hold my water 4weks ago I saw a little blood in my urine. I have over the last year been sweating a lot in between my legs ans burning and tenderness when urinating. I can’t hold me urine in for long. I got antibiotics of my doctor for a week but still suffering I have had ultra scan and all clear I went to hospital for a camera thru my penis and no sign of tuna only said that my bladder was red. I am now going for a CT scan and urologist as booked me in for a biopsy under anaesthetic I am wondering is this the best procedure. As I am not currently passing any blood in urine. As I am drinking more water now rather than tea. Also my anus gets sore every other day. My stools look healthy and have been tested and cleared of bowel cancer. Appreciate feedback. As this ad just come on in the last 4weeks. I am worried. Neil. a
Good morning from Northern VA. I was diagnosed with stage 3b bladder cancer in Jan '22. I underwent 8 rounds of chemo in April and May '22 and a successful radical cystectomy in July '22. I have been clear at all subsequent visits and the doctor recently moved my visits to annual.
