Bipolar – Seroquel withdrawal
I am bipolar 2. For 10 years, I have been taking Seroquel, Lamictal,Busperione And gabapentin. I had gained 80 pounds. I slowly reduced my Seroquel from 600 mg to 300 mg. Over the past six months, I have slowly been reducing my dosage from 300 mg to finally zero. And I still am having withdrawal symptoms. These include insomnia, Mania, Stomach pain at first. Also runny nose. My anxiety and mania are the main issues along with the insomnia. I take 15 mg of buspirone three and sometimes four times a day that will take the edge off on real bad days. On real bad days I take a Lunesta 2 mg in the morning to slow my heart down and to calm me down from the anxiety and mania, it’s so bad. It does not make me sleepy at all. Just calmer. The doctor has me on 3 mg of Lunesta and also recently prescribed Hydroxyzine 50 mg at night. Even taking all of that, I only sleep four or five hours a night. How long will my withdrawal symptoms last and how can I be sure that the severe anxiety I am having is not just my bipolar issues coming back. I am going into my fifth week being fully off of Seroquel. I feel like Seroquel caused my weight gain and made me a zombie. It also caused very high blood pressure.
