Bilateral Hip Replacement Concern

Posted by jabekitten @jabekitten, Oct 24, 2025

I have recently had my right hip done. Less than 3 weeks to the left. I am scared to dislocate. My surgeon used the Anterior direct arthroplasty approach. He says no restrictions, but I get on these sites, and it gets terrifying as people talk about all these dislocations. I want to be active again. Does anyone have any experience with this and can you offer any advice?

My husband had both hips replaced. Doctor required 6 months between hip replacements. My husband had very successful replacements.

@the i've been told I need a hip replacement. I've already had 3 back fusions with Osteoporosis. May ask how he did and the pain level and how long it took before he could walk and function. Thank you

@cpsjewelry my husband was walking the day after both replacements His first replacement was very easy, walking with little pain, His second was more painful but he was walking normally
with both replacements within 5 weeks. Good luck
