Best probiotics after antibiotics

Posted by questions2244 @questions2244, Aug 5, 2023

Hello,

I’m looking for help identifying the best probiotic to take after 10 days of antibiotics. There are so many options. I have been taking florastor but not sure if I should continue that since I have a tendency to get yeast infections. What is best for preventing c diff and vaginal health? And for how long? I’ve asked pharmacists and they seem to say anything but the research seems to be more strain specific.

Thank you

Hi,
You need to take probiotic 3 to 4 hours after or before your antibiotic if you do not want to have yeast infection. Since my doctor’s recommendation I have no more infection when I take antibiotic. It is also a AI recommendation.

I changed to a probiotic containing Saccharomyces boulardii and it has made a huge difference. I've taken probiotics for years but the others did nothing regards to antibiotics. By the way, I drink my coffee in the morning and then take my probiotics with water. I don't think they should be taken with a hot liquid.
