Best air purifier for medium rooms

What air purifiers brand would you recommend for a medium room size? I have BE and was treated for MAC and I am allergic to mold and fungus. I have heard about air doctor brand but I really don’t know how good this kind of air purifiers are. I hope you suggest something. Thank you

I have 3 Coway air purifiers. I have a smokey odor from a restaurant
nearby. I have no idea if the purifiers are doing Rozanything. It has a button for Ionizer. Should I not be using that? I am thinking of hiring an industrial engineer to do a study. I have spent four years trying to get my building to solve the problem. It's much better but not solved. I'm on wait lists for several senior living facilities, but the lists are very long.

@rozie83 I was told to not use the ionizer because it makes dust particles heavier and brings them to the floor. Easier to clean but the larger particles play havoc on our lungs

Hi Roz, that's horrible, that you still have the smell. Have you spoken to the restaurant manager and asked if there's anything they can do with their exhaust filters? I have 2 puroair air purifiers that I use in my bedroom at night and living area during the day. Most days I run the living area 24/7 I think it really helps with allergens and odors. It seems like every year, the allergens keep getting worse-though it's probably me. I replace the filters every 3-6 months. Kathy

Thanks, Kathy. We have talked again and again to the restaurant management. They did one thing, but it isn't foolproof. My building has done some things also. I run my air purifiers day and night, stronger at night. I know they work because they come on stronger if I cook and smoke is produced. I change my filters often also. I appreciate your input.

Okay, sorry I wasn't helpful. I thought you were looking for recommendations on different air purifiers. I hope someday you get resolution and/or move up the list quickly for a good, assisted living program. Kathy

Hi Kathy,

I was talking to an allergy sufferer today. We all agree the allergies in the Phoenix area keep getting worse. And so much ozone pollution. And now the heat. But at least we're not having flooding in our streets. Roz

@rozie83 Hi Roz, this is the worst year! Between that and the heat, I really want to move. I'll private message you later. Kathy

For a medium room, I would compare purifiers by verified room coverage, HEPA filtration, and replacement filter availability. With mold and fungal sensitivities, it may help to discuss filtration needs with your clinician. When comparing replacement options, Fine Filters can be one reference for checking dimensions, ratings, and compatibility before purchasing a filter.
