Benign carcinoid tumor in bronchi tube
Hi I've been diagnosed with a benign typical carcinoid tumor in my bronchi tube in right lung was found when I went to A&E with pneumonia back in July of this year I've had 2 bronchoscopys 2 biopys which showed benign carcinoid tumor I was sent for ct scan mri scan and pet scan pet scan was clear I was put under general anesthetic as my lung specialist said he might be able to remove tumor by going down my throat instead of haven surgery but didn't work but he was able to take 40% of tumor out as it was blocking my air way that's how pneumonia set in the 40% he removed also came back benign carcinoid 1 lymph node was removed and checked also clear now I need surgery to remove the rest I'm so confused as doctor said its a benign tumor then Google is telling me it's a low grade cancerous tumor but doctor nor lung specialist said anything about cancer just said its benign doesnt benign mean non cancerous and can any one tell me how surgery went thank you bless you all xx

1 Reaction@nannybb He tries to be. He also likes to cuddle up next to you to sleep. He is the softest blanket ever.
@nannybb Thank you. I am glad it helped. Nothing like a good cry to help get some perspective. My little sister has down syndrome. I get up everyday with opportunities in life that she never had. What do I really have to complain about? She also taught me to help others in need especially kids. Go help the kids. You will learn more from them then you could ever possibly teach. Sounds like a rewarding experience for everyone involved.
@jessie1990 you are welcome. Hopefully you found something that can help you?
The person that suggested I work with babies is a nun. I work (when I get back to work) for a Catholic retirement/nursing environment. She is a go- getter with wonderful connections. I'm going to see if I can have lunch with her and pick her brains.

1 Reaction@tomrennie That is something I really miss about Atticus. He was a Persian and also super soft. He would sleep near my head and later in the night move to my legs. He was a support animal, so I could even take him on trips via airplane. He was never a problem. Your handsome guy looks regal.

1 ReactionI had all of those tests pre-op plus a 24 hour urine sample. Maybe because I already had all of that done my doctor did not do any type of an actual surgery pre-op. Can you ask your doctor or his nursing staff is they will be running any other tests?

1 ReactionAsk your doctors office, even if it is just by using MyChart to communicate. I was very disappointed with my surgeon (as I have mentioned in other posts) I have had several operations, and each time I had a pre-surgery work up (CBC if nothing else, and EKG) I'm getting the feeling they no longer do that since Covid. I could be wrong, but that was my experience. Are you comfortable with your doctor and his staff?
