Anyone else in the same boat?

@paracat so we will sit in the same boat and float together...I find pleasure in the colorful faces in my secret garden during the warm months.

I saw your title and question, and, yes, I am in the same boat. The ageing I was starting to get used to ... it's just another cycle in life, blah, blah, blah. Actually, it's rather freeing. However, the chronic pain and loneliness have sunk me into what seems like a never-ending depression. Seems to be a vicious cycle. I seem to have withdrawn from friends because of the pain and depression. I used to be a 'glass is half full,' optimistic person. I don't know where she went, but she's gone. Wish I had some wisdom to pass along, but pretty much all I can say is you're not alone and I hope you find something which enthuses you, as well as relief from your pain.

@lioness

I don't know how to answer your question. Mirtazapine/Remeron is an antidepressant. I don't know if it's used as a primary medication, but I'm using it as an add on for Wellbutrin, which I've been taking for 12 years.

I recently stopped taking Wellbutrin. It was giving me tardive dyskinesia. Affecting my speech by giving me involuntary mouth movements. You think your phone can screw up what you say when it transfers your words to text, throwing a little tardive dyskinesia and the fun really winds up.

The loneliness has become all-consuming. So much love to give and still so alone.

Old? I sign up to that...with 76 trips around the sun. FWIW FYI: Getting old is the natural sequential order of living things. Nobody gets off the planet alive.
Chronic pain? No “Show Stopper Levels” here, only normal day-to-day aches and pains associated with being reminded that I am vintage.
Loneliness? One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do. As for me, I, personally, have never been lonely, either when alone or in a crowd.

@jimhd I have one person that has seen me without my masks and there are many. I read how others have been helped by therapists. I can no longer trust them. I keep trying and all of this sharing online about a diagnosis etc. along with my medical records I highly disapprove of even though they are required to do so.
I say I am functioning adequately or within established parameters which always throws the one inquiring off the topic. Such a stupid question.
Take care. On Halloween I use all of my masks!!!!

@parus and @wsh66

I agree, Qigong (or any form of Tai-Chi) offers remarkable benefits for me. Teresa

Hi @parus, I just noticed your profile picture changed (I think). Did you draw the picture? It's really good.
Hoping you have a Happy Friday...

OiGong is much different than Tai-Chi as it is used to aid in healing. I practice on myself and others. It is much more than just exercises.
