Back surgery and Nebuluzing

I am scheduled to have a Laminectomy in a few weeks, and am nervous about coughing and needing to nebulize right after surgery. Has anyone experienced this? Would love to hear suggestions.

Hi Glenda, When I have had surgery, I have talked to the surgeon's scheduler and admissions at the hospital in advance about my needs. They coordinated between the hospital & pulmonology - a respiratory therapist visited me to do supervised nebbing as soon as possible after surgery and throughout my stay.
Maybe you can start in advance by contacting your pulmonologist to learn how to proceed in your particular hospital system?
