Anyone have experience taking B12 to address peripheral neuropathy problems from my long term Ethambutol regimen?

@smc17 do you have low blood B12 . What test shows you can’t absorb B12. I think I’m having this problem although my B12 levels are normal/ high .
Is there a specific test.?

@damcipro There are certain genes that can prevent you from absorbing B12 properly although it shows highl levels in your blood. The one specific one is the MTHFR gene. You should ask your doctor to test you for those.

@linda1334 thanks Linda I have MTHFRsnps and whole bunch of others SOD2rs48880TT being the most problematic for me and probably why the TB meds went so horribly wrong.
No use taking to doctors about these they have no clue what I’m talking about.
Just wondered if there was a specific test for actual 12 absorption.

@damcipro I dont know what it is. My original doctorc13 yrs ago did a bunch of tests and called explaining that I coukd not absorb b12 and id have to do injections. I never asked for test name. He showed me that I was extremely liw . I was having numbness and tingles in my hands ,fingers.
