Autoimmune disease mistaken for mental disease

Posted by Lisa @techi, Aug 2, 2017

When l was at the Mayo Clinic my neurologist told me that my neurologist l had assumed instead of read my medical records that l had an Autoimmue disease. My gasterentologist knew because he referred me to a rheumatologist. So l was mad at that because of the symptoms l was having and they wanted to place me in a mental hospital. Then l also found out medicine l am allergic to they still have that l am taking. And one of the hospitals l go to and the my cardiologist l am seeing right now. My insurance is cancelling there contract with them and my insurance is a major insurance. So l called my cardiologist to see if she wanted to see me before the discontinue there services with the hospital and she tells me l wasn't treating you for anything so you can follow-up with general practice doctor. l believe they have been misdiagnosing people and running up insurances that they know will pay them well. So now l guess l have to come forward to my insurance that they were suppose to run a test that they didn't so they can take off my record that l have psychiatric issues instead of autoimmune issues. Sorry excuse of a medical hospital and its doctors. They said with the insurance company not renewing the contract will hurt 600 doctors and l am sure the employees too. Time to search for a new doctor!!!!

I knkw l looking for an attorney. I dont like to do this but they need to be held accountable and my insurance company also because l kept telling them what was going on. And when the insurance on call nurse told me not to take 2 meds together and l told my doctor she said that was old news, now you can take them together. I called the pharamcy and they told me you shouldn't. Yes that is medical negliance and now she doesn't want to take care of me. Now l am not sure because our insurance doesn't want to renew a contract with them but she didn't even refer me to another doctor.

John today l tried to search for a neurologist, cardiologist and general practice doctor but l found out l have to have a referrals from my primary physican who l am going to fire. So l don't know if l have to wait to l go to the mayo clinic because the hospital where my neurologist and cardiologist practices my insurance doesn't wants to not agree to a contract with them because they know that they will pay them and when patients are well to leave to go home they keep them in the hospital longer. So they said 600 doctors will lose patients so l have to look for new doctors which is okay with me but sometimes the doctors my general practice doctor has referred me to l don't like them.

Lisa, I'm sorry to hear of all the hassle and hoops they are making you go through. You might just try contacting the closest Mayo Clinic location and see if you can setup an appointment that way.

The contact information for Minnesota, Arizona and Florida can be found here: http://mayocl.in/1mtmR63.
You can find out more about billing and insurance at Mayo Clinic here: http://mayocl.in/2kk2hF8

Lisa, I fully sympathize with you in your troubles. With Mayo, you have to be extremely with their system. Their financial structure can mess up things worse than a hog in a slop bucket. And they will run you through a gauntlet of tests which have little or nothing to do with your disorder, and then bill you for them. Just be very careful.

Yeah, I got an MRI with them and they insisted that I needed to do it with them...better machines I guess. Rediculous.

John l can go to the mayo clinic no problem. But i don't know who to get a referral with if you get a new general practice doctor because they don't know your history and since the mayo clinic doctors are saying you have been misdiagnosed and you don't have the history that you have been told will the doctor in your state listen to the doctors at the mayo clinic since the mayo clinic is so advanced and the doctors are well upto date with new diseases or medical diagnses. We do have a mayo extension but l was told the one in Rochestor is number 1 for what l am going through because l asked abot the one in arizona and l referred someone to the mayo clinic and she was told she should go to arizona because of the hospitals and doctors here.

I kinda think there machines and technology is better because l have been told for over 20yrs. I had an enlarged heart and angina and Dr. Miller said you don't you only have uncontrolled high blood pressure and its controlled now. And my internal med doctor and neurologist said the same thing that l needed to have my MRI and PET test done there and l agree with them. I don't trust the doctors here and the technology is so outdated. So l agreed with them and l have to travel 11hrs but its worth it.
