Hello @2413273, welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I had not heard of hearing being attacked by an autoimmune disease but a little searching confirmed that it can happen. Here's what I found on the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association website.

HAVE BEEN WONDERING ABOUT MY EARS 👂 I DO HAVE AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE THROID - GRAVES MY EYES ARE AFFECTED DOUBLE VISION IS A MAJOR PROBLEM I WISH I COULD FIND A SPECIALIST WHO WORKS WITH GRAVES DISEASE AFFECTING THE EYES.WHO COULD ADVISE ME HOW TO HANDLE THIS DOUBLE VISION I HAVE TO CLOSE ONE EYE TO ONLY SEE ONE THING AND CANNOT DRIVE 🙏 THANKS TERESA

@2413273 Even though this condition is said to be one of the rarest of those who experience hearing loss (< 1%), you are not alone. I have been dealing with this for about two and a half years, although I wasn't diagnosed until the end of last year.
