Atrial fibrillation, pain

Is it common to suffer chest pain, while dealing with atrial fibrillation? I'm on diltiazem sr120 and metoprolol tartrate, thank you

I have had AFIB for over 10 years and I do not recall having pain. I do recall feeling like something was not right and being uncomfortable.

I have never seen posts by anyone, and have no personal experience, with pain that could be linked to AF. The anxiety is something else, it can induce breathlessness, make you feel faint or agitated and you want to pace up and down the hallway...but never pain. What I would suspect is that, with a heart not beating very well, it might bring on temporary angina because the heart's own blood supply, carrying oxygen, is impeded in one or more important coronary arteries. So, I would put this to a cardiologist who will listen and believe that you experience pain.

@gloaming thank you, some cardiologists have their mind set, before you ever say anything

Before I was diagnosed with A-fib, I was on Alodipine, then on Cardizem while I waited for cardioversion, then very briefly on Flecainide while deciding on an ablation. I could feel my heartbeat at night almost all the time while awake and when at rest during the day--ever present. Since my ablation, I am off all those meds and I sleep at night without that sensation--it took me a few days to notice "Hey, I don't feel my heartbeat all the time!--(like normal people!) My friend with A-fib describes the same sensation. We often talked about wondering how anyone could have A-fib and not know it! Everyone is different but you are not alone and you are not wrong.

Norman Chester. Here is what dr Google says. I never swallow anything before investigating.
Common side effects of diltiazem sr120
Swollen hands, ankles or feet, Headaches, Feeling dizzy and light-headed. Feeling tired, weak and generally unwell, Feeling hot (flushing) and redness of the skin, Itching or burning on the skin where you use the cream or ointment. Stomach pain, Indigestion, Constipation

Serious side effects
Stop taking diltiazem and call a doctor or call 111 now if:
you get severe pain in your stomach
the whites of your eyes turn yellow, or your skin turns yellow although this may be less obvious on brown or black skin – this can be a sign of liver problems
your heartbeat becomes noticeable (palpitations), Immediate action required:
Call 999 or go to A&E now if: you get chest pain that does not stop after a few minutes or is new or worse if you already have angina. Chest pain is a possible sign of a heart attack and needs to be checked out.

Side effects of metoprolol tartrate,
Blurred vision. chest pain or discomfort. confusion.,dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position. slow or irregular heartbeat. sweating. unusual tiredness or weakness.
