Sleep apnea and potential treatments

Posted by Barco@2194 @wgatap21, Nov 5, 2019

  1. Twice I have had sleep tests in 15 years. Both resulted in moderate/severe apnea! Tried CPAP! OMG. God bless those that can sleep with them and I know a few! Not a chance for me!! I came across Inspiresleep.com and have done some research. It seems to be gaining support. Wondering if anyone has tried and are using it and their thoughts. Thanks

@aeb I have many dental implants and caps (ie a very expensive mouth. I have read that the dental device can be damaging. Have you had any problems with that?

No I haven’t had any issues with that. I can feel that there have been some changes to the shape of my teeth in general, however.

I will be interested in your success. I also have "mild" apnea. Will you please ask the dentist about the possibility of damage to dentistry in wearing the device? I am going on nine months. This is my last ditch effort. I am trying a full face mask.
Thanks,
Dana

@dalebout123 I found the full face mask with the soft memory foam to work the best, especially after I added lip tape. But in the end it was just awful. Will keep you posted but won't see dentist for months and hope to have oral appliance by spring 🙁 I wear a bite guard now so I think getting used to it will be okay. will ask about damage concern, but probably depends on the dental situation you have. I have a crown but that's it.
