Anyone with Multifocal Choroiditis and Panuveitis?

Posted by barbarat @barbarat, May 10 1:05pm

I was diagnosed with bilateral Multifocal Choroiditis and Panuveitis (left worse than right) in November 2026. It is non-infectious. I was initially treated with 60 mg of Prednisone daily, followed by a long taper. I had no signs of inflammation while on 10 mg, but after being completely off prednisone for six days, symptoms returned in my right eye.

I’m now back on prednisone with another taper, and I’ll be at 10 mg when I see the retina specialist again at the end of the month. The plan is to taper by 1 mg per month to determine a maintenance dose, with the expectation that I may need long-term treatment.

Has anyone else experienced this? I’m also considering getting a second opinion at Mass Eye and Ear. Any recommendations or experiences would be appreciated. Thanks.
