Anyone tried Breyna? J
Just diagnosed with COPD. Did 1 month of Trelegy, worked well but to expensive. On Incruse but only so-so. Breztri also expensive on my insurance. Will be looking into changing insurance for 2026.

Look up the manufacturer of Trelegy. They have a program that after so much OOP (don't remember the amount), you can get Trelegy at no cost to you. Do that with all your meds - you'd be amazed at the number of programs that help us afford our medications. Worth the time and trouble!
Did go to site and entered info. Said since on Medicare did not qualify for any help.
@pjs27 Breyna is the same medication as Symbicort, but less expensive. There is also a generic version that is even less costly. It contains a long-acting beta agonist (airway relaxer) and an inhaled corticosteroid (anti-inflammatory). It is less expensive than Ellipta, and works for many people with COPD and difficult-to-manage asthma.
Ellipta contains one additional ingredient, an anti-cholingeric, which is another airway relaxer.
Another difference - Breyna is an inhaled mist, Ellipta an inhaled powder. Some people do bette with one compared to the other.
Have you decided to try the Breyna? Mines costs about $60/month with Medicare and my supplement.
@sueinmn Yes. I am planning to message Dr and ask to try it. At pulmonary function test they gave me a chamber to use with inhalers. Thanks for the information.
@pjs27 Here is a tip, from one who has used this for several years. Use the chamber - it helps deliver the medication to your lungs and lessens the amount the ends up in your mouth.
You may experience a sore mouth from the steroid in the medication, to reduce the chance rinse your mouth thoroughly after each use.
It only took a few days for my body to begin to respond to the Breyna - my chest became less tight, and my shortness of breath improved.
