if you have volunteered or declined to participate, I'd like to here your thoughts. I was on the fence, very undecided, yet I decided to go ahead to do it. I have a few low grade health problems im dealing with , and really dont want to hear anymore. That said, I realize this testing may be of great value at some point. Also its strictly voluntary and can be declined at anytime. I sent mine in today.
Whats your thoughts??

Hi @johnbishop , I looked it over before I sent my test in…im not seeing anywhere a time frame. No big deal…just wanted to know if anyone knows the time frame. Im kinda surprised they dont offer that info. Thx!
I have participated and received results for both general ancestry and for a specific condition. I learned that I have a gene mutation for high cholesterol which I have been dealing with since it was identified when I was 40. I have received extensive genetic counseling from Mayo about the results and will seek additional information to see if I can benefit from changes in medication. I paid to have the test repeated, a Mayo recommendation, to confirm the Helix results. I also believe my participation can benefit others in the future.

@birchlaker can you tell us how long it took to receive the results once you sent the sample kit back for the Tapestry study?
I'm participating, too. Sounds interesting. I think I have some nasty genes, but really want to know AND if this can help others in my family, that's great. Always interesting in learning more. I sent my test in about 2+ weeks ago. They said expect results in about 12 weeks. Goody!

I heard from helix, that my sample was received and health results may be available in 4 weeks and DNA up to 12 weeks. Ill keep checking and post back if anything comes up. Also, i needed to register in order for the sample to be transported, which I did prior to taking the test, but somehow didn't get through…so that held things up.

Got most of my results! But still waiting for the results of the genetic disease disposition.

I got my results for 3 parts of of the Helix study. The 4th part which is about your tendency to inherit medical conditions I am still awaiting the results on. It came back in a tad over 3 months, just as I was told it would. Very interesting all they can tell from genetics.
Has anyone every gotten their results back? I never have. It's been several months and no word. When I log into Helix and click on My Results, for traits, ancestry, and health it says, "Our lab has received and inspected your DNA Sample!" but it's said that for months. It would sure be great to get the results.
I'm still waiting also. I mailed my test kit back in early November so I guess I've got another month to wait. The status says we are prepping your sample for sequencing.

I received results within six weeks of sending the sample of my DNA. Everything went as Helix claimed.
I'm still waiting! Last week I emailed Helix and asked for an update. Yesterday, they/Mayo sent me another survey re covid, symptoms, exposure, etc. Maybe they found some antibodies in my sample? Can't imagine. Guess I need to ck and see what saliva shows! And, we probably all got this surey. So, I suppose just wait a bit more. anxious to find out what they find! Merry Christmas to all!!!Elizabeth

@dazlin – I didn't see anything that told me when to expect receiving the results but from the previous two genetic tests I did (Genes for Good -https://genesforgood.sph.umich.edu/ and Mayo Clinic GeneGuide – no longer available), it took about 4 to 6 weeks. I sent my Tapestry kit back last week so will let everyone know when I receive the results. There is also a list of frequently asked questions you may want to review in which I didn't see the question answered.
