Anyone participate in SilverSneakers?

When I became disabled, I got a Medicare Advantage plan that came with a SilverSneakers membership.

I've found the online classes very helpful. For one thing, they give me "someplace to go" without leaving my house.

I got so involved, they interviewed me back in April as part of their "SilverSneakers Live" series.

A Silver Sneaker plan came with my Medicare supplement policy.
I used it when I took a Pilates class, but I don't wear out the equipment anymore.

I looked into Silver Sneakers, but my Medicare, Part B, doesn't cover it; nor does my supplemental plan with Regence. I do an online training program called Eldergym Academy, which has 100s of videos and resources. At a cost of $10 a month for an annual membership, it's a bargain.

I attend a Silver Sneakers class that focuses on balance, flexibility, a bit of cardio, light weights and bands. No floor work. It is not strenuous but it is beneficial. I recommend! Cindy

I have done Silver Sneakers in the rehab facility in my town. I have not done the videos. I have found it to be helpful.

As for silver sneakers, I've heard the name but I thought it had something to do with the Heaven's Gate cult, so I stayed away.

I have Kaiser senior advantage which includes free gym membership via Silver Sneakers. It is fabulous. I do water aerobics Monday and Wednesdays, a "Silver Sneakers" aerobics class on Tuesday and Friday. I couldn't be happier with this. It keeps me fit and socialized. It is a win win. There are folks in all different levels of ability. You do what you can and are never pressured.

I have been a member of Silver Sneakers for three years. I absolutely love it. I try to take 30 minutes to 1 hours daily. It has made a big difference in my health.
