Anyone on IV Orencia for RA?

Posted by pshnyc601 @pshnyc601, Apr 28 5:44pm

About to start Orencia infusions. Have tried almost a dozen meds in the 22 years I’ve had RA. Most recently on Xeljanz for 4 years which worked great until about 6 months ago. Drugs always stop working eventually. My main question is how long before you started feeling better? I’m hoping this will work. Running out of drugs to try and am miserable! TYIA.

I have had 20 monthly infusions of Orencia for RA - luckily have never had any side effects and only had 2 break thru pains over that period.
My RA was a sudden onset June of 2022. Turning 70 brought many unsuspected gifts of ill health.
Awareness of what food goes in my body has also helped.

Hi there you could be reading my mail. We have very similar stories. I have RA and two other diseases. It was getting scary because I had been on so many medications that I was terrified that I would run out of options. I was on Xeljanz for 5 years and I did great on it. I just started RINVOQ and it’s so far slow to get started though I have confidence in it. Orencia was a very good drug for me for about two years. So I wouldn’t worry too much if I were you. However I do understand your concerns. Please stay close to the group if you don’t already. Everyone here really cares and will share their experience with you. Prayers.

I have RA for 25 years. I’ve tried about everything. I’m trying to get on Rinvoq with financial aid. Currently taking Acterma and developed Ulcerative colitis and a stomach ulcer. Stopping it plus it is not working now. Took All TNF block inhibitors with Humira being the most effective. Rituximab helped but stopped working after a year or so.
