Anyone on Celebrex?

Posted by debec @debec, 2 days ago

Hi all,
I've been prescribed Celebrex in efforts to manage inflammation/pain related to lupus, Sjogren's, and other autoimmune conditions. I'm wondering if anyone can share their own experience with the medication? Does it relieve pain, does it create other problems, etc?
Thanks in advance!

Oh, I loved it but then the insurance I had at the time wouldn’t cover it. If it’s helping, stick with it. However, do your own research to see if there are any side effects, long-or short-term, and if it’s contraindicated with any other medication you take now or later.

Be very careful with Celebrex! My Mother was prescribed the medication and it caused her colon to perforate. She had emergency surgery. She was lucky that she survived.

I take it morning and night. Hard to say how well it works but no side effects..

Can also cause kidney issues.

I took it for fibromyalgia. It didn't help my pain and raised my blood pressure. Watch out for that side effect. Everyone's body responds differently. I wish you the best.

I was on Celebrex for severe osteoarthritis while awaiting hip replacement. No noticeable pain improvement but gave me kidney pains and constipation so severe i ended inhospital. Wont touch again, but everyoe is different. good luck

Be careful with it. I was on it for 4 years and now I have stage 3b kidney disease. It's just like any other NSAID. It's good for the pain but it kills something along the way.
