Anyone like to share their remedy for medication build up on neck?

I’m on my six week of radiation and chemotherapy my dr and nurse both told me to only us that ointment (flamazine - silver sulfadiazine cream ) on open sores and not to apply it four hours before radiation as the metal in the ointment would affect the radiation

Dear Lord, thank you for sharing your experience with the silver sulfadiazine cream . And God bless you and your journey through it all. My husband has three more days apparently in his case, the cream has made a plaque like appearance and he's trying to scrape it off and I'm trying to convince him to leave it alone. It's overly raw. Thank you again, none of this has a simple fix. I will tell him not to use it in the mornings certainly.

My husbands dr. Told us to stop with the silver, and to use instead a cream such as Aquaphor. It worked as well as the silver might have, but he had the most awful looking open neck wounds and his neck looked as if it had been in a fire. Eventually some compresses were held in place on his open sores until they healed. We continue to use Aquaphor and he is now 10 weeks post radiation.

Has anyone found how to soothe his very sore mouth? He cannot eat, has been on a feeding tube, and can only swallow water and some pudding. We need to get him off the feeding tube but it is very slow going!
