Anyone increase mutations during chemo

Just found out my bone marrow showed a new mutation...now I have five mutations..anyone else had this happen.

What are you being treated for?
I am being treated for AML. This week at my MD appointment My Hem/Onc mentioned that new mutations can develop even during treatment. My numbers are dropping and he is considering sending me for a BMB. I am scheduled for an MRD blood draw this Wednesday. As we all know the longest days are the ones between a procedure and getting the results!
I pray that your new mutation is common and treatable.

I also have aml...all blood work normal but have gene mutations..I don't know if they ever go aeay...

You are fortunate that your mutations aren’t impacting your blood work! I see my Hem/Onc doc this week and will ask him whether mutations ever go away. My last MRD didn’t show any but since it is a blood test and blood is always circulating it is possible that I still have mutations that just were not detected! Treatment continues.

Please update me when you get your results..hope you have great results..I have had to increase my vidaza from 3days to 5days a month because of mutations...sometimes I feel I don't understand how lukemia can effect us..Hope your doctor visit goes well
