Anyone hear music as tinnitus?

Hey! Don’t knock MES. I’ve had it now for likely 4 months. While I hate using the word “stress”, because it’s held responsible for anything that medical science cannot cure or explain, it came on during a stressful feeling I’ve never dealt with before. Right now the all male chorus is singing “Oh, Susana.” Only in my left ear. They’ve switched to “Battle Hymn of the Republic” for a while. They don’t completely sing the song but keep going over the most familiar parts of it, or another. Kinda “tinny” sound. Sometimes they switch to traditional songs or hit songs far back as the forties. They just went into - rats, what is it? A religious Christmas song. The title slipped my mind. Got it! “Adeste fideles, Laeti triumphantes. Venite venite in Bethlehem”
Ancient Latin was highly inflected. Meaning that the how the end of the word was written out determined TENSE (when the verb action was taking place; also if one or more than one person was performing the action Actually NUMBER was determined by a noun usually at the start of the sentence. And the noun determined GENDER - masculine. feminine or neuter. Why they had to assign a Gender to Every noun (person, place or thing) beats me. Today we refer to a ship (large ones) as “she”. The Titanic went down with “her” captain. The Latin word for ship being “navis” to which its creator assigned the female gender. Any adjective describing the ship had to modify its ending to the female version: “pulchra”. Two or more ships were “naves”. And if they were beautiful ships, they were “naves pulchrae”.
You know a Latin sentence had NO spaces between words. Nor did Romans use punctuation. A bit odd. Lastly, “lower case letters” did not exist until around the Middle Ages.
But try to explain to some poor immigrant how to pronounce English “ou”. Let’s see. There’s:

BOUGHT
BOUGH
THROUGH
THOUGH
NUMEROUS
ALOUD (maybe same as BOUGH)

A friend once asked me to pronounce this word: GHOTI
That’s GHOTI. I said I give up. You pronounce it.
And he said FISH. What!!??
FISH, he repeated.

He explained.

The “F” sound came from the sound of “GH” as in “ENOUGH”.

The “I” (like IT) came from

Lastly, the “SH” sound in FISH came from the “TI” in “NATION”. 🤪

I suddenly lost total hearing in my right ear 5 years ago. This past January I suddenly lost total haring in the left ear making me completely deaf. No doctors have been able to explain why both sudden losses occurred. After taking a high oral dose of steroids and a series of injections I regained partial hearing in my left ear. I am currently wearing a hearing aid in my left ear and a cross over transmitter in my right ear. I now have musical ear syndrome. Music 24/7. Have tried a lot of things but nothing seems to help. any suggestions?????

I had a similar problem two years ago. Tinnitus is a condition which is not understood by the medical community its as yet. all I can do is tell you what worked for me thus far. lost weight (top) of my BMI index. No longer a type II diabetic; Started on methocarbamol and Tylenol for pain relief. Out of pocket money spent with Dr. Trevir Berry's oxygen and laser treatment. Researched Dr. Hamid Djaliliaan studies of diet and Tinnitus explanation. Djalilian nailed all of my symptoms which I've experienced the last two years. I had a mild set back this morning (first in a week or two). My tinnitus increased to a level of 60+db. ENTs and Neurologists have yet to place values on these conditions. I've placed values as related to candle power for vision sensitivity, and also decibel values for tinititus. This morning I ate four pieced of pork bacon' which triggered my tinnitus to a confused state and dizziness (60+ db). I took Dr.Trevor Berry's supplements, which include tallow/magnesium/complex D/ and several other ingredient. Dr. Djalilian diet also recommends a strict diet of anti-inflamitory foods. The combination of Dr. Djalilian; a few meds.; with Dr. Trevor Berry's therapy is working for me to regain vision; sound; and taste senses. My friend. Take care of your self, as tenets takes the entire medical community to mange its effects as much of it has yet mot be nailed by the scientific community. Western medicine and insurance does not cover leading edge technologies until proven scientifically by years of studies. Western medicine does not support what works until proven with out a doubt my friend. Take care of your self, as we travel this journey together. I hope what is working for mr gives you some sort of support and help for your condition. Goodby friend for now. I'm beginning to feel much better as my teiinitus has again returned to the 40-50 DB range.

@glennradliff I forgot to add That I believe I had vertigo also early on. I used the John Hopskinf Employ maneuver which helps re-orientate the. protein Chrystals in our ear. I used both the left ear and right ear maneuvers. Friend take care.

Yes I do, I hear deep male voices singing near on most of the time, I have a Cochlear implant in my left ear, and I’m due to have a second Cochlear implant in September, the singing I hear is apparently is a condition called Music Ear Syndrome (MES) this is what my Audiologist has told me .

I appreciate everyone responding to this condition of MES. I read that only 20% of the population develop this condition. I just dont feel so alone in this knowing others share this condition.
