Anyone have sharp burning pain with the placement of a port?
I have stage 4 breast cancer. I had a port placed on Friday morning. Today, Sunday, I am having very sharp burning pain in the middle of my chest. The area my port was put in is not swollen or red. This pain is inside my chest to the left of my breast bone. It is like something is poking me and it is very sharp. It is on the opposite side of the port.

Hello @georgiaw welcome to connect. I vaguely remember telling my doctor I felt a poking. He said it was from the marker they placed where the tumor was. I also have had a lot of pokey and zinging sensations over the years after surgeries.
Did this subside for you? Have you sent a message to your doctor?

The pain has mostly resolved with the help of two pain medication’s. A patch and a pill.
