Anyone had an ablation for lower back pain
I’ve had low back pain for 2 years. Pain injections did no good. Any good results with ablation

2 ReactionsI still have the same pain so far. I have heard that sometimes it takes time for an ablation to take effect. I had high hopes that this would take pain away at least for a while. I guess I’ll be going back to the neurologist at pain clinic.

2 ReactionsIt does take some time before you feel some relief. I’ve had 2 ablations on L4/5. One lasted 16 months the other is still helping and it’s been 14 so far. However my husband had it done on L3/4 and it didn’t help much. It’s really individualized therapy works on some and not others.

2 ReactionsI have had several ablations. I experienced about a week to ten days to feel the full affect. God bless you, brotherchuckles80

1 ReactionI have had the ablation about three times. I had spurs gouging into the nerves so it helped a lot. I still have back problems but not the sharp unrelenting pain that I had before. I am so glad I had it done before my Dr retired.

2 ReactionsI had one to relieve pain from SI joint ligament tear. My leg is now turning out and causing hip pain. I would try PT before any ablation. .

2 ReactionsI recently had ablation bilaterally on L4-L5 and L5-S1.
The left side showed good improvement while the right side was just marginally improved. Unfortunately both sides have pretty much reverted to original pain after 6 weeks so it was repeated again on left side only. That was about 4 weeks ago with not much improvement so still very limited pain free movement. Good luck...many people have ongoing improvement of 9-12 months.

2 ReactionsSorry, your ablation isn't giving lasting relief. I'm scheduled for an ablation next Thursday. Nothing has worked yet. I have had numerous steroid injections and a stimulator that I had removed. Pain pills do not help. I have read about good and bad results on this site. With my track record, I don't know if this will help. My pain level is very high. Any thoughts if it might work for me? Does it hurt to have done it, and how long will it be before I see results? Thanks for any input you can give me.

1 ReactionI had an ablation Apr. 2023. It lasted for me until Jan. of this year. The one I did this year, didn't do anything. I didn't think much of the procedure. There was just a moment of pain. I think the anticipation of the procedure is worse.
