Anyone had an ablation for lower back pain

I’ve had low back pain for 2 years. Pain injections did no good. Any good results with ablation

Yes and for me it worked 100%. The down side is that it lasted about 6 months which is typical. I then had a second spinal ablation and the back ache was helped about 65 to 70%. No complications or discomfort with the procedure. This was 10 months ago and my back is still a problem. I'm looking into endoscopic thizotomy now. My back impacts my whole life!

Yes it gave me my life back , its been 22 months I had 2 injections prior with no relief & bad side effects “ spinal migraine ” ended up in hospital . I would/will gladly do ablation again if needed. Good luck !

Were the 2 prior injections like an ablation? What were they and after the ablation that worked, how long before relief? I had an ablation and have gotten no relief.

I had an ablation of 6 nerves. It did not do anything for my pain.

Then I suspect that there is another reason for your pain; probably involving the muscles. I would think that someone versed in kinesiology should be able to provide some insight. I'm sort of in the same boat as you are and might end up doing the ablation. Things that are supposed to diminish nerve pain like GabaPentin or Pregabalin aren't helpful. PT [at least that which was prescribed] doesn't help. Recently I was prescribed a muscle relaxant [Metaxalone] which doesn't really help either. I take just one 800mg dose at bedtime. It does help me get back to sleep faster if I need to make a pee trip during the night. FWIW I determined that Metaxalone was likely the best muscle relaxant to take with PreGabalin as far interaction is concerned.

A long time ago at work I was reaching into a barrel in order to get something off of the bottom and pulled something in my lower back. I couldn't stand up straight for 2-3 days. My situation is sort of like that now. I start to walk andcan feel pain in my right lower back kind of above the pelvic bone. As I walk the pain tends to spread away as well as I feel like I'm being bent over. Also walking uphill makes it even worse.

We do sound similar. None of the drugs you mentioned helped. No pain reliever works for me. PT made it worse. I can't stand or walk for more than a few minutes at a time. One neurosurgeon said it was nerves causing the pain. The second neuro said it was muscular. I have had numerous steroid injections that didn't help either. Had a spine stimulator for 5 weeks that didn't help.
I have DDD throughout my spine. My next procedure will be a gel injection to hydrate the vertebrae. If that doesn't help, I don't know what I'm going to do. I do know I can't live like this. 24/7 pain is awful. Good luck on your journey!

They didn’t work for me, be careful who does them for you, there are clinics that don’t do them right!
