I understand that it's targetted by special equipment. My insurance did approve it (United Health Care Advantage), I think. The whole process of communication with Iowa City was confusing. My psychiatrist wrote a long referral letter. And after days, the hospital psychiatric dept. called me to say that they were discontinuing the treatment.
@ceciford
The name of the clinic is called GenHealth. They have 2 offices, one in Surprise AZ and one in Goodyear AZ. They do not have information on the website about the SAINT protocol right now. It is something that they are going to offer in the near future. I have an appointment on Wednesday and will ask my tech for more details including the use of any imaging.
@ceciford oh wow I’m sorry to hear that, I’m sure it was disappointing to get so close to the treatment, only to find out it is no longer offered.
Hopefully other places, including Mayo, offer it soon.
@ashleyharris728
Please tell me, when you learn, whether GenHealth does targeting specific areas and whether they take insurance. Thank you, Ashley.
@ceciford
I absolutely will!
@ceciford
They have both the standard TMS and a one day accelerated treatment. They have both the Neurostar and Cloud TMS machines. It is a 12 hour day of TMS 30 min on and 30 min off. There is no MRI involved.
@ashleygm814 please remind me where GenHealth is located and what it is.
I sent you a private message
@ashleygm814 In reading over the info from Stanford it sounded as if doing imaging was a big part of doing STAIN....being able to target where needed. If where you went didn't do an MRI was other imaging offered? Has enough time passed that you have finished treatment? If so how do you feel about the outcome?
@crabby55 I don't know whether this was to Ceci Ford. But I haven't done the SAINT treatment yet.
