Anyone experiencing unsteady gait and dizziness after Afib episode fo?

Bad AFIB episode in January with hospitalization and then outpatient Cardioversion in Feb! Had not had Afib episode since Oct 2023. Having very unsteady gait and dizziness still! Anyone else similar situations?

People report many symptoms when they experience AF, but some don't know they have it at all...so no symptoms. For my second-ever bout of AF, maybe two months after my first and being diagnosed with 'paroxysmal AF' , I could hardly catch my breath by the time I was standing in front of the triage nurse at the ER. All other times, I just felt the thumping in my left chest wall, but not much else...except for some anxiety, of course, which would be perfectly natural for someone who is symptomatic.
If you begin to experience AF over time, especially if it comes on more frequently, and if its lasts longer, it is probably an indication that you should see a cardiologist and then get referred to an electrophysiologist about a mechanical remedy known as 'catheter ablation'. I won't go on to describe what it is...we can save that for now...but it has a good chance at stemming the electrical impulses, the extra ones, that cause the extra beats. No more AF, so no more nasty symptoms.
One other consideration. It might be worth asking for a formal assessment of your system-wide magnesium levels. Magnesium is very important for muscle, but especially myocyte, function...they being heart muscle cells. We in the western world often run short of magnesium due to diet and due to over-production of produce from soils. If you are deficient, supplementation is easily done, and your physician can offer you guidance. Each drug store has several varieties of magnesium salts from which to choose, but I would not go running to the nearest drug store until you KNOW you are short of magnesium.

You might want to ask you doctor and see if they want to do a brain scan after hearing about your symptoms. It is possible you had a TIA or small stroke. Some people find out about Afib after they have an event like dizziness or weakness. I would assume you are now on a blood thinner? That is standard procedure after an Afib event. Better check with you doc.

Had catheter ablation Nov 2023 and no more Afib until this episode Jan 2025! I was removed from Carvedilol and Fkecanide which had been working well. Now on Sotolol and continuing on Eliquis. Just disappointed and anxious Afib reoccured after doing so well since ablation. Cardiologist and PCP follow-ups next week! Will certainly ask about Magnesium supplements and labwork! Thanks.

I did have s stroke in Jan 2024 following an ablation Nov 2023. With my hospitalization this time in Jan a CT performed and was told did not show a new stroke; however, these lingering symptoms are so similar to previous stroke. See Cardiologist and PCP next week and will address again. Thanks.
