@merpreb , I had the second MRI, and I forgot to tell my doctor about my claustrophobia, so when I checked in and told the MRI tech, she gave me a tiny dose of Xanax, which had no effect on me. But I was better prepared the second time and took extras of my own meds ahead of time, so I think that I was pretty relaxed. Along with my midday morphine sulfate I took Klonopin and a muscle relaxer. I knew that would lower my alertness, so my wife did the driving.

Oh my oh my. I have suffered with MRI tests taking awfully potent medication so I could do this. Thank goodness now they have truly OPEN m.r.i's. You sit on a chair and behind you is the machine. There is a complete openness in front of you and on your sides. I have claustrophobia, PTSD and restless leg syndrome. I am in a very slow and depressed area and yet we have this machine. Check all around and hopefully you will find one. Good luck. Peacht

I never had PTSD before. I had a job I loved for 23 years. There is this thing called "Workplace Bullying", which is very unethical but not against the law. Every state individually has to pass their own Workplace Bullying Law. Workplace bullying is such a deep subject, that all I can say is that it changes a person's whole being and life. At first, I did not know what was happening. Then I figured it out. I stayed the longest in my department (3 years). I read on The Workplace Bullying Site (very interesting), that workplace bullying is like a concentration camp, because every day you don't know what will happen, and it will always be something negative. They bullied approximately 100 people in the company. They do this as a money saver. A huge percent just quit. I should never have stuck it out. They didn't know what to do with me, so they fired me. By firing me, they were supposed to pay me unemployment. They were so cheap that they took me to Unemployment Court, but I eventually got unemployment. I had to go to a specialist at job service. He told me I could no longer work; my psychiatrist said the same thing. Because of this, I was put on disability (something I never would have thought of). There are many different situations that can bring on PTSD. When I am in the building where I worked (hospital), I feel sick and I can't get close to my department. When I tried eating while working, the food would get stuck in my throat. Sometimes, this still happens to me and I have to vomit. This situation also enhanced all of my other Psychological diagnoses.

Hi, @grandmaj5 - what has your psychiatrist prescribed/suggested to help you deal with the PTSD from the workplace bullying, beyond no longer working?

@blindeyepug - thinking of you.

At my age of 82 I have seen much, much bullying. It is a shame that this is still continuing. The way we bring up our children is so very important but, if one family teaches the right way then another family does not and does not follow through then here we go. The schools are a large factor with this as well. But then the law comes into it. Everyone (including the schools) is afraid of being brought to the courts and being sued. I wish there was home schooling when my children were going to school. My son was born with a cleft lip and palate. He was disfigured and they let him know it. To this day he has PTSD from this but is doing well. Of course the bullies will pick on anyone they care to. I have a question for them: Are you proud of yourself? And again ask them this when their children are in school will they also be bullies?

I am on Topimax, Clonazepam, Zoloft, and Adderall (ADHD). I also take a vitamin B vitamin (suggested by a Pharmacist). Everyone asks me how I can take Adderall with Clonazepam (they think they will cancel one another out. For some reason, they don't do that to me. I am working on getting off Clonazepam (long story). I am now getting off Clonazepam by myself, because I had horrible symptoms from the schedule I was given (3 weeks). I do feel I need a smaller dose. I am now tapering slowly (small doses throughout the day, which is half of me prescribed dose). They say that a person knows their own body. Thanks for asking and also than you @blindeyepug for thinking of me.

It is so sad this happens, especially when you don't realize at first what is happening to you (you don't understand that people could do this). I was never really bullied before (maybe slightly in grade school). I got along with a majority of people and had many friends. I am sorry for what your family went through; it is a mean behavior. The bullies actually have low self esteem. Older bullies are worse. They calculate their moves. I studied bullying when this happened to me. There are so many tactics workplace bullies use and they enjoy it. Some are called psychopaths. They are the ones who are sick. Before I left work, I told each bully that I forgave them; one cried. I could never live with myself if I did that. Yes, the pecking order will continue forever - just like chickens! I feel that the bullies eventually will have their day; I have seen that happen to a lot of mean people. I also believe in home schooling. My daughter is almost 40. When she was young, I believe not many people home schooled. Now, it is very popular and the home-schooled children get together. This is much healthier, but it is also sad that they can't experience a positive school experience without fear.

Thanks Jim for liking.

Thank you, Lisa for asking about the PTSD. I am not totally sure which drug I take that is helping me, or maybe I was given an increase in a drug. I looked at the drugs I mentioned that I am on and Topimax should be Lamictal (for some reason I mix those 2 up). I really do not like taking medications. I wish I didn't have to take anything. I only included my psychotropic drugs. I was diagnosed with PTSD, but not sure what drug is helping that. Maybe the combination helps. Now, I may have to look deeper into that. Thanks.

My small input may help. Because of my age and medical disabilities I can now only use a form of valium called lorazapam. I use this in a very small dosage. .05 mg. It really does help. Not the greatest but it is pretty good as long as I lay down and rest. There are times when the anxieties are so bad that I will take two pills. I do not take the pills every day, only when it is really needed. Peach
