Any remedies for mouth sores?
Figured I would start a new discussion since I'm new and mouth sores hasn't been discussed for awhile. Was hospitalized for severe Covid in 2020 and on oxygen for a long while but am fully recovered except for two weird ongoing symptoms (thermostat issues, addressed in another discussion) and Mouth Sores. These usually hit me 3-4 times a year, have lessened some since 2020, but have had them twice now the last 3 weeks. Starts with a raw feeling in my throat (during my 2020 Covid I had the worst sore throat ever!) and then lesions (raised bumps or sometimes linear) appear on the roof of my mouth. My dentist has prescribed Acyclovir - tho not sure how much it helps. I see Lysine discussed.... anything helping to get over this faster? They always go away within a week to 10 days.

Lysine. I always carry it when I travel since that causes stress. It helps me within 24-48 hours.
A licorice rinse coats the sores.
Buttermilk swishes kill the thrush
I am not sure , but it is worth a try. I found that I was allergic to Sodium Laurel Sulfate (SLS), which is the foaming agent in toothpaste and shampoos, causes me to have mouth sores. Once I found a toothpaste that did not have SLS , I was free from the painful sores. Crest does NOT have any, One or two of the synsodyne and Tom's of Maine toothpastes are SLS free but not all of them so check the label. good luck, Jen
