Anyone have a Long COVID treatment plan? What is working for you?

Posted by Sally Landes @landes, Dec 2, 2025

Have 99% of Long Covid symptoms. Now in hospice stage 1 for chronic staff infection on knee replacement. Over 6 hospital visit 2 years begging for diagnosis for my extreme fatigue,brain fog other cognitive. Are you in Treatment,what is working for you. Any other thoughts and advice is

@gently Thanks for the Science Daily link. Fragments of the covid spike proteins appear to be using the EVs for 'replicating like a 'fungi' in the body, a fungi that can't be purged using anti-fungal meds. But the doctors seem to have discovered answers to 'what', 'how', 'where' mysteries of long haulers suffering.

William Stringer, M.D.,William 's discovery of the SARS-CoV-2 protein fragments within extracellular vesicles (EVs), naturally occurring packages that help cells share proteins, metabolites, sounds like the 'what' and 'where' parts of LC: EV natural packages share proteins are the 'what' part of the Covid protein fragments. Sounds like human EVs are the 'storage' containers for these Covid fragments or the 'where' part of this mystery.

Asghar Abbasi, Ph.D., finding 65 distinct protein fragments from SARS-CoV-2 inside LC patients EVs confirms 'what' Covid fragments are being stored and then replicated in the LC patients bodies. These protein fragments come from the virus's Pp1ab protein, an RNA Replicase enzyme which is key to how the virus copies itself and makes other viral particles. This protein is found uniquely in SARS-CoV-2, and not in uninfected human cells.

Together, these doctors findings seem to be pointing to LC patients 'not clearing' or purging pieces of spike proteins. It's a hard thing to know so far they found 65 different covid fragments in the EVs. This is the pattern of SARS Covid spike protein ability to adapt to its 'environment' so it can continue to replicate.

I wonder: If PET scans can find cancer cells in the human body before cancer has actually been diagnosed, is there a test that can isolate 'where' the covid protein fragment is stored relate to 'different' symptoms? Does a person with multiple systems have have multiple storage and 'hidden replication' centers for these fragmented covid proteins? Maybe Netflix will take this on as a series and begin working inside this lab in California where the mysterious disease of LC is being undertaken.

Sally, Will Hospice assist or support you with Long Covid issues or are they just supporting you on the knee infection? I ask, because if you were never tested via blood work ups for your T-Cell immunity levels in fighting off infections, this could be helpful in managing your current knee infections and if that is put under control, it would likely help with covid symptoms.

One Thing that I am noticing is a cycle hard to explain last 4 years about every 30-40- days I go thought a 3-4 days body an mind change body= Afib, sleep infects just to name a few an mind mood swing [NOT NICE] after these mood swings I get better but it,s been real hard with my memory for example at the gym friends come up to me an get angry because I cant remember who they are been a long road but getting better with Gods Help.

@pattig09
Both of these doctors seem to be involved in the same study. They only looked at 14 patients, so, while interesting, there's nothing conclusive here. It also doesn't suggest anything towards a "cure", just a possible biomarker.
It makes me curious, though, whether these "extracellular vesicles" exhibit anything of significance with other related illnesses, specifically ME/CFS, or even Lyme, all of which are arguably post-viral phenomena.

In any case, this seems to be pretty off-track WRT to the original poster's question

@sandguy I replied to the original poster separately as she was in hospice. My separate post about Dr William Stringer was tied to the post from @gently who presented the work of Dr Stringer. He has been running trials on Long Covid for some time now. https://respiratoryresearch.org/longcovidstudy/

Dr. Stringer and Asghar Abbasi, Ph.D. (he is at the Lundquist Institute and working on Long Covid) are both respiratory experts. They presented their Long Covid research at a conference in Nov 2025: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/397958091_Exercise_Training_Regulates_Long_RNA_Profiles_in_Serum_Extracellular_Vesicles_EVs_of_Long_COVID_Patients
