It's a bit late for me to comment on this thread, but I just stumbled upon it after joining a few days ago.
My dad was exposed to asbestos while in the navy (age 18-21), and diagnosed with biphasic malignant pleural mesothelioma (right side only) at age 84 (in July of 2023). He started Opdivo + Yervoy shortly before his 85th birthday, but couldn't tolerate it, and had to stop after about 4 months. PET scans before and after showed some of the tumors shrinking and others growing.
The biggest problems were extreme fatigue, which led to excessive bedtime, lack of activity, including lack of eating which led to a metabolic crash, muscle weakness, and general "failure to thrive" which led to 3 weeks in the hospital and 3 more in rehab.
There appears to be a steroid protocol to follow when stopping Opdivo+Yervoy (and maybe some other immunotherapies?) due to severe intolerance, but they were not offered to my dad. We followed up with another doctor after rehab. He prescribed 3 weeks of oral prednisone for that and other reasons, and they seemed to help him turn around a bit.
