fingerlessknits, why is there a month delay on hearing your results. If you don't have mychart start calling Mayo. Someone has had those results for three weeks at the very least. Don't get lost in the shuffle.
Sorry this is happening to you.

On my last mammogram, there was a delay with my results. I called them…had to leave a message. Called again, no response ….after 3 weeks my primary called me and gave me the results. Then, I got a letter of results a week later from the provider. All was good, but I won’t use that provider again. They told me I’d have the results within a week Additionally, they sent the test to an out of network provider, and now I have to pay $250, for a screening mammogram, that I was told was free. I contested as Surprise Billing, which is illegal, but they don’t care. My insurance denied my appeal. So, I’m paying it. Ugh.

I cannot believe you had to wait that long? They told me while I was still there after getting the 3D mammogram. The ultrasound came immediately afterwards, and then there is a consult with a doctor. Mine is through UW Hospital with a whole special Department called The Breast Center. All the doctors I've met are female. You get results almost immediately, you get total support, including a phone call when needed, and you get intermittent checkups. It is absolutely unbelievable that you would have to wait for those results. Omg, I am shocked! I would definitely look for a new provider even if you have to go the distance to find a true professional.

Right. They are a Mammogram Department inside a hospital. Who treats people like that? Sigh.

I am so sorry this is happening to you. I definitely get the Schrödinger’s cat thing. I feel like that feline every time I get a scan and then the waiting. It feels like an eternity, frankly I think a week or two is too long in this age of technology. Trust me, you are not alone in this, even in the US, we have wait times. The corporate takeover of medicine in my area has resulted in some real hits in patient care, even worse if you do not have a primary doctor.
I love your avatar by the way, horses are the thing that help me live in the moment and reduce my anxiety when I am waiting or going through a rough patch.
I am glad you are calling and making noise for your results. Is this a regular screening mammogram or do you have a concern or a lump that is making you more worried?

I’m 70 with very dense breast tissue reg screening was scheduled for June and then I found this lump

I'm sorry it's so slow in Canada. My 3D mammogram had my results and consult before I got dressed. For a regular mammogram I was told I'd get a letter in a week unless something was found and I'd get a call. I had the letter two days later. I'm retired and sometimes consider moving, but then I'm concerned I'll end up somewhere with poorer health care options.
