I had a similar experience, ending up in the emergency room.
Luckily, the ER doc suggested I see a sleep specialist. It turned out I had severe sleep apnea.
Once I got that treated, the anxiety attacks ( and acid reflux) went away.

5 Reactions@kimreg2008 panic attacks are horrible. Been there! But once I trained myself (was enrolled in a relaxation therapy program, actually, where I learned the technique) to breathe through my stomach/diaphragm I haven’t experienced another attack. I realized then, that I had been taking shallow breaths from my upper chest. Diaphragmatic breathing allows you to take deeper breaths.
For some people breathing into a paper bag helps, but it didn’t do anything for me; it may help you, however, till you learn diaphragmatic/belly breathing.

6 ReactionsI’ve had that happen. There were times the attack (which woke me up) lasted an hour or more.
My attacks used to come in the way of body jerking. When they came, I would tense my entire body during the jerking phase then do deep breathing. Later I discovered Internal Family Systems (IFS) and determined the anxiety (and jerks) came from traumatized parts of me which needed attention. Now if it comes up, I ask my parts if they could be peaceful until the next day.
Has anyone ever had a constant bittet taste in mouth or seems like coming from tongue? I have severe health anxiety and health issues ptsd major depression and GAD
