Antineoplaston Therapy

Posted by All_in_1963 @burrkay, Dec 26, 2022

There is a Clinic in Houston, Texas who treats cancers of all types with Antineoplaston Therapy, supposedly with great success but not sanctioned by the FDA. Therefore, expense is typically not covered by insurance companies. Anybody have any experience with the clinic.
My wife is a stage IV (NSCLC) lung cancer patient and we are considering alternative medicine in an effort to prolong her life.

Hi @burrkay,
I think you might appreciate this article from Cancer Research UK:

- Antineoplaston therapy - Cancer Research UK: https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/about-cancer/cancer-in-general/treatment/complementary-alternative-therapies/individual-therapies/antineoplaston-therapy
Here's an excerpt
"Antineoplaston therapy is a type of alternative treatment. There is not enough reliable evidence that it can help to treat cancer. It is understandable that you might want to try anything if you think it might help treat or cure your cancer. Only you can decide whether to use an alternative cancer therapy such as antineoplaston therapy.
You could harm your health if you stop your cancer treatment for an unproven treatment.
Many websites might promote antineoplaston therapy as a cure for cancer. But no reputable scientific cancer organisations support any of these claims."

The article also states that studies are in early phases and may be biased given that all studies at the time of the article July 14, 2022, were only conducted by Dr Burzynski, who developed antineoplaston therapy in the 1970s.

Hi Colleen and Merry Christmas to you and yours!
I put that out there to see if anybody has had any first hand involvement with the clinic.
Kay has put the chemotherapy on hold since June of this year. Her next scan will give us a fresh look at how much the tumors have grown.
We have been fortunate to have had excellent care from our oncologist here at UAMS and Dr Molina in Rochester.
She had her bilobectony in May, 2015…nearly seven years ago.
I understand the negativity toward alternative medicine, but if the early scientists had not overcome adversity, where would medicine be today? Currently the new developments in the medical field seem to be under the thumbs of the FDA and Big Pharma, causing me grave concern about whether we will ever find a cure…too much influence by Big Pharma - in my opinion.

I would suggest you look at the website made by patients treated at the clinic in Houston. Dr. Burzynski is the founder of the treatment and has successfully treated lung cancer. Go to burzynskipatientgroup.org for more information.

Best wishes and many prayers for your wife's health.
