Antibiotics

When I was on chemo (gemcitabine and abraxane) I was hospitalized with cellulitis. Antibiotics cleared it up.

Now I read that scientists are studying adding antibiotics to therapy for pancreatic cancer --

......antibiotics might improve the effectiveness of chemo or modulate the tumor microbiome in pancreatic cancer treatment, especially in combination with gemcitabine.

This remains unproven, and may never be the standard of care.

Years ago a prominent academic oncologist wrote that long term survival of pancreatic cancer depends on the biology of the tumor and the biology of the patient. Lots of unknowns there.
